Former international Mutiu Adepoju has lauded the appointment of Finidi George as interim head coach of the Super Eagles.
Finidi’s appointment was confirmed on Tuesday by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
The Enyimba boss was one of the assistants to former head coach, Jose Peseiro.
The former Ajax player will lead the Super Eagles in the friendlies against Ghana and Mali.
Adepoju, a member of the Super Eagles side that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations title, congratulated Finidi on his new appointment.
“Just learning that my brother and colleague Finidi George has been appointed interim head coach of Nigeria Super Eagles,” Adepoju wrote on his Facebook page.
“Big news and massive congratulations from me.
“Here’s wishing you the best of success.”
