Super Eagles interim head coach, Finidi George has said it is important for the team to get positive results in their upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali.
The West Africans will be looking to build on their positive outing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former winger has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the team following the exit of erstwhile head coach, Jose Peseiro.
The Super Eagles will keep a date with eternal rivals, Ghana on Friday, before taking on Mali next Tuesday.
Both matches will serve as preparation for their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
Finidi insisted that they will fight to get the best result in the two friendly games
“We want to make (Nigerians) them proud,” Finidi said on NFF TV.
“AFCON is gone so these are two games that are very crucial for Nigeria, so we will take them seriously and get the best out of these games.”
