Yudhra box office collection day 1: The Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan-starrer action film Yudhra had a promising start at the box office, thanks to tickets being priced at Rs 99 due to National Cinema Day. The film, which opened to mixed reviews, earned Rs 4.5 crore domestically, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Yudhra had over 2200 shows on its opening day, almost double of Kareena Kapoor’s crime thriller, The Buckingham Murders. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film witnessed an overall occupancy of about 46.54% with the majority of the crowd watching the night shows.

Yudhra had about 533 shows in Delhi/NCR, followed by 353 shows in Mumbai, and 300 in Ahmedabad. The film was released alongside Saurabh Dasgupta’s Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam, starring Dhvani Bhanushali and Ashim Gulati. Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam earned Rs 1.05 crore, just Rs 10 lakh less than The Buckingham Murders’ first day collection last week. Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam had less than 1000 shows across India.

Yudhra ended up being the second best performer on National Cinema Day, with Stree 2 earning Rs 4.75 crore. According to Pinkvilla, for Yudhra to have a successful run, it will have to earn over Rs 50 crore. Yudhra was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, which includes print and advertising cost. Meanwhile, Tumbbad earned Rs 2.65 crore on National cinema day, securing the number three spot a week after it was re-released in theatres.

With no major competition in the coming days, it seems like Yudhra will have a promising weekend collection. Produced by Excel Entertainment, Yudhra marks Siddhant Chaturvedi’s sixth film and fourth big screen release after Gully Boy, Bunty Aur Babli 2, and Phone Bhoot. The film also stars Kill fame Raghav Juyal in a pivotal role.
