Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has lauded the club’s former player Joe Willock for his impressive performance under Eddie Howe’s management at Newcastle United.

During a discussion on Sky Sports Premier League, Wright praised Willock, commending his athleticism and versatility, highlighting his skillsets in scoring and passing.

Wright further mentioned Willock’s ability to defend and get back, which he believes makes him an asset in any midfield role.

He said, “He is so athletic, he is so skilful. Like Eddie mentioned there, he can get into the box and score a goal.

“He is a very good passer of the ball as well. He is very good at defending, he can get back. He has got everything that you need in that midfield.”

Notably, Willock began his football career at Arsenal’s Hale End academy and made his first-team debut under former manager Arsene Wenger in September 2017 in the EFL Cup.
