The Falconets got off to a winning start at the 13th African Games courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Morocco.

The defending champions took the lead through Chioma Olise in the 19th minute.

Chris Danjuma’s side doubled their advantage through a Yina Adoo’s own goal five minutes before the break.

The Falconets ought to have won by a far greater margin but for poor finishing.

The West Africans will face Senegal in their next game on Monday.

Hosts Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda are the other teams in Group A.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals.
