Ex-Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has said the team can still qualify for the Champions League next season.
Neville was speaking on Sky Sports, following United’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
It is the Red Devils’ second successive defeat, after they lost 2-1 to Fulham at Old Trafford last weekend.
“Last week against Fulham was more of a problem than today. Today was likely going to end in defeat.
“Villa play Spurs next week so both could drop points so United could get close. There’s still hope for United there but they’re inconsistent,” Neville said.
The result leaves United in sixth place with 44 points after 27 fixtures.
