Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed that Victor Boniface will undergo surgery in the coming days.

The Bundesliga leaders confirmed this in a statement on their X handle.

The 23-year-old is not expected to be in action until early April.

Bayer Leverkusen posted on X: “Victor Boniface suffered a muscle-tendon injury in the right adductor area during the Nigerian training camp in Dubai. The striker will undergo surgery in the coming days and is expected to be out of action until early April.”

The forward has been replaced in Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations by Terem Moffi.
