Former Tottenham Hotspur attacker, Darren Bent has told Chelsea to sack whoever made the decision to sign Mykhailo Mudryk.
Bent said this as the Ukrainian winger failed to make an impact in Chelsea’s recent Carabao Cup final 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Mudryk came off the bench at the closing stage of 90 minutes to replace Nicolas Jackson and failed to impress Bent.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent said:
“Whoever gave the green light for the Mudryk transfer for that amount of money deserves to be sacked.
“He came on and had no impact.”
“When he came on I thought, ‘Oh this might be his moment’ – a big pitch, Liverpool getting tired. His biggest attribute is his pace and he showed absolutely nothing,” he added.
Mudryk joined Chelsea from FC Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for a reported £88.5 million.
He has scored just four goals and provided five assists in 43 games across all competitions for the Blues.
