Lobi Stars technical adviser Eugene Agagbe has acknowledged his team’s fighting spirit in the home win against Heartland.
The Pride of Benue defeated Heartland 1-0 in a matchday 21 fixture at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
Kumaga Surr scored the only goal in the game to increase his tally to four in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, this season.
Agagbe admitted that his tactics also played a crucial role in the win.
“I thanked my boys for putting up a good fight,” he said in a post-match interview.
“I knew the game would be a difficult one because our opponents were down so they came to fight and fight to finish.
“But when a coach has a strategy, he is bound to win a game, I read the game and I discovered they were packed in the midfield and i decided to play wide and from that moment I got my goal and won my match.”
Lobi Stars extended their lead at the top of the league table following the win.
