Rivers United captain, Nyima Nwagua remains optimistic that the team can go all the way in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The Port Harcourt club boosted their chances of securing a place in the knockout phase of the competition with a 3-2 away victory against Academica do Lobito of Angola on Sunday night.
The former Nigerian champions occupy third position in the Group C table with nine points from five games.
Stanley Eguma’s side will need to beat Ghana’s Dream FC in their final group game in Uyo on Sunday to seal a place in the quarter-finals.
Nwagua believes Rivers United can go all the way in the competition.
“In football anything can happen. However, my teammates and I will do everything within our powers and abilities to go all the way to the finals of the competition,” he said after the game in Luanda.
