Niger Tornadoes are awaiting approval from the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, to return to their home ground, Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium.

The ground was banned from hosting NPFL games since the start of the 2023-24 season.

The Ikon Allah Boys have been playing their home matches at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna following the ban.

“For now the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium is now awaiting official approval from the both the NPFL and the NFF,” the club said in response to enquiries by DAILY POST.

“The team will soon return to Minna.”

Niger Tornadoes are hovering around the relegation zone.

They will take on Abia Warriors in a matchday 21 fixture on Sunday.
