Spanish LaLiga giant Real Madrid are still working on a deal for France captain Kylian Mbappe, despite reports that the contract had been signed earlier this week.
This is according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who also explained the processes to fall into place before his announcement.
“There is no clarity on announcement yet. I don’t have a specific date now, they are still working on the details of the deal and then it will be announced as soon as they sign,” Romano told The Daily Briefing.
Romano also released a video on his Twitter account in the early hours of Wednesday morning updating his followers on the situation.
He explained that once the deal is signed with Real Madrid, that is when Paris Saint-Germain will officially confirm Mbappe’s departure to the public, despite already having done so to the press.
Mbappe’s current deal with PSG will expire at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has refused to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 champions.
He reportedly told the Parisians last week that he would not sign a new contract and will leave the club this summer.
