Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has admitted he would “walk” to Manchester City if he got an offer to work with Pep Guardiola.

The 38-year-old is currently out of job after he was sacked at Birmingham City in January.

However, Rooney remains keen to continue his managerial career.

But Rooney has said he would be ready to accept a different role, even as an assistant.

When asked by Gary Neville on the Overlap, if he would consider becoming an assistant manager, Rooney replied: “It depends. If Pep Guardiola comes in and asks me to be his assistant, you’d walk there!

“But if you see what Arteta is doing now at Arsenal, I strongly believe a lot of that is from learning what Guardiola was doing and so it depends on what the situation is.”
