Rivers United forward, Nyima Nwagua has revealed that the team is now focused on their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Pride of Rivers will travel to Angola to take on Academica Petroleos de Lobito in a matchday four encounter on Sunday.
Stanley Eguma’s side recorded an impressive 3-0 win against the same opponent at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in November.
Rivers United currently occupy third position in Group C with six points.
Nwagua believes the team has no excuses but to qualify for the next round of the competition.
“Right now the team is focused on the task ahead in Angola,” he told DAILY POST.
“We have to build on the performance in the league because we will have no excuse than to get it right in Angola.”
Club Africain and Dreams FC top Group C with nine points each.
Academica Petroleos de Lobito are languishing at the bottom of the table with no points.
