Rivers United forward, Nyima Nwagua has expressed disappointment over the outcome of their rescheduled game against Sporting Lagos.

The Pride of Rivers suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Wednesday.

Clement Naantuam scored the only goal of the game for Sporting Lagos.

Nwagua stated that the team put up a good effort despite the defeat.

He, however, assured that the team would pick the positive from the game.

“I feel very sad because the result didn’t speak of our performance in the game,” he told DAILY POST.

“We have failed in some certain areas during the season but football is all about win and lose but the most important thing is to pick the positives going forward.”

Rivers United remain in 12th position on the table following the defeat.
