Super Eagles star, Kelechi Iheanacho has assured that the Super Eagles will be back after their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final defeat to Ivory Coast on Sunday night.
Recall that Iheanacho, who came off the bench during the encounter, was unable to save Jose Peseiro’s men as Ivory Coast defeated Nigeria 2-1 in the AFCON final.
Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller scored the goals for Ivory Coast in the second half, while William Toost-Ekong scored for Nigeria.
However, reflecting on the outcome of the game, the Leicester City forward also thanked Nigerians who supported the team during the tournament in Ivory Coast.
“Normally na this one dey pain pass wey you don see the trophy but you no touch am ba wahala. We will be back,” Iheanacho wrote on X.
“Thank you to all Nigerian that supported us God bless you all, let’s keep believing. Thank you MostHighGod.”
