Fulham manager Marco Silva said he will be supporting the Nigerian duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey in Sunday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.

Iwobi and Bassey have played a crucial role in Nigeria’s march to the final of the competition.

Midfielder Iwobi has featured in all six of Nigeria’s games in the competition, while Bassey has made five appearances.

The Super Eagles will take on hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday.

Silva claimed he has missed the services of the two players but is rooting for them to win the AFCON title.

“Of course, we have been watching. It’s a mixed feeling for us. It’s been a long time without two key players for us. Right now, we are supporting them in the final,” Silva told a press conference ahead of Fulham’s clash with Bournemouth.
