Abia Warriors has once again assured that the Umuahia Township Stadium will meet the required standard ahead of the resumption of the second stanza of the league.

The chairman of the club, John Obuh, gave the assurance while giving updates on the steps already taken to put the Umuahia Township Stadium in shape.

He expressed optimism that Abia Warriors will remain in Umuahia for the second half of the season.

“We have involved experts from the University of Agriculture, Umudike, with a lot of tests being carried out as to ascertain the grass that is suitable for our soil,” he stated to the club’s media.

“We are working hard to meet expectations, though it is costing the club money but we have to get it done to ensure that Abia Warriors play at home. Because our home is our home.

“One good thing is that major work will commence on the stadium immediately after the season is over, after the state government contracts the work. Umuahia Township Stadium will have a new look.”
