South Africa star Terrence Mashego has warned that the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, semifinal clash between Bafana Bafana and Nigeria will be a difficult one.
South Africa beat Cape Verde 2-1 on penalties to book a place in the semi-finals, and Nigeria overcame Angola.
Mashego is one of the 11 Mamelodi Sundowns players in the Bafana Bafana squad.
Asked about the semifinal clash against Nigeria, the player acknowledged that the three-time African champions are not the easiest opponents.
“It’s going to be a difficult game. You know, Nigeria, they have a good squad, but also on our side, we have a good squad, so it’s going to be a very good game,” he told reporters in the mixed zone.
On Victor Osimhen, he said: “We also have a good defence; now we’ve gone three games without conceding, so we have a very good defence; we are ready for any battle.
“We don’t want to pressurise ourselves; we just have to take one game at a time, and maybe we might find ourselves in the final.”
