The former England midfielder is being tipped to replace Emma Hayes as the manager of the Blues women’s team.
Hayes will leave the role at the end of the season after 12 years in charge.
The 47-year-old is leaving Chelsea to become the next head coach of the USA women’s national team.
According to former Everton midfielder Izzy Christiansen, Lampard is her ideal successor.
Lampard has taken charge of the men’s team on two different occasions.
“I do have a name in mind, but I’ve never heard anyone throw it out there. Frank Lampard,” Christiansen said while speaking to LiveScore.
“He’s somebody who knows the club inside out. From my experiences at Everton and listening to him speak, he’s the right type of character. His level of communication and knowledge of the game could be really effective, and I think you’ve got someone well accustomed to what it means to be Chelsea.”
