Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has blamed their 4-0 to Barcelona on his players’ failure to convert their chances.

Ancelotti also claimed they lost their energy after the Catalans scored.

Madrid dominated the early exchanges of Saturday’s El Clasico, but failed to find the back of the net.

Robert Lewandowski then netted twice within 10 minutes of the second half.

Lamine Yamal and Raphinha also scored as Barca opened a six-point lead at the top of LaLiga.

Ancelotti, speaking after the game, said: “We missed many chances, we lost our energy when they scored.

“We’re hurt, yes… difficult moments. But we will not give up, the season is long.”

He added: “In the first half I liked the team. We are sad.

“I have to thank the fans because they helped us for 90 minutes.

“We don’t have to throw everything because there is nothing to throw. For 60 minutes we competed very well but we had 30 minutes to forget.”
