Heartland have turned down the chance to play their home games at the Enyimba International Stadium.
The Naze Millionaires instead picked the Awka City Stadium as their temporary home ground for the second stanza of the 2023-24 NPFL season.
The media officer of the club, Solomon Onu, disclosed this in a chat with DAILY POST.
Onu said efforts have been intensified to renovate the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
DAILY POST recalls that the NPFL suspended the Dan Anyiam Stadium from hosting league matches following the poor state of the playing pitch.
“We will be using the Awka City Stadium as our home ground for the second stanza of the season,” he told DAILY POST.
“We have started work on the Dan Anyiam Stadium in order to facilitate out return home.”
The second round of the NPFL season will resume on February 14.
