Issa Sy from Senegal will be the referee at the centre, when Nigeria play Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final on Friday.

Sy will work alongside his compatriots Djibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura.

Camara and Bangoura are assistant referee 1 and assistant referee 2 respectively, alongside Mauritanian official Abdel Aziz Bouh as fourth official.

The match will be played at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.

The encounter is one of the rare occasions where Nigeria and Angola go head-to-head.

The most notable was when the Palancas Negras held the Super Eagles to a 1-1 in Kano, to edge the head-to-head contest and qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
