Dutch legend, Marco van Basten has blasted Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag for the signings he has made since taking over at Old Trafford.
He said the Dutch coach has settled for second class players while the top clubs at United’s level go for world-class stars.
He believes that the signings made by the former Ajax boss have not improved Manchester United.
According to TheEuropeanLad, Basten said, “The big clubs.. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal, they all sign the better players while Erik ten Hag comes with second class signings who won’t improve his team.”
The former AC Milan striker added that Erik ten Hag made a mistake by signing Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
“How on earth did Erik ten Hag decide to spend €50M for Ugarte? It’s bizarre. I only needed those 2 games to see that he’s not even worth 25% of that amount,” he said.
