Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel, has identified Thomas Tuchel as the manager who is ‘good’ for the club.

Schmeichel also expressed his desire to support current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who is currently under intense pressure amid the club’s poor form this season.

Ten Hag’s side is currently in 14th position on the Premier League table following their recent goalless draw with Aston Villa last weekend.

“With the last two jobs Thomas Tuchel had, at Chelsea and at Bayern Munich, he was at those two clubs at the wrong time,” Schmeichel said on the Seaman Says podcast with Betway.

“I like Thomas Tuchel, I really like him. Being around the Champions League, talking to him and interviewing him, listening to him talk to his players in the technical area, he just looks like someone who would be a good manager for Manchester United.

“But, Erik ten Hag is still the manager and I will support him because I want the club to do well.

“If that doesn’t work then maybe then we talk about a change.”

Tuchel is currently out of job after he parted ways with Bayern Munich few months ago.
