President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau has promised that the Super Eagles will qualify for both the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles are well on course to secure a place at the 2025 AFCON which will be hosted by Morocco having started the qualifying campaign with a win and draw against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Augustine Eguavoen’s side currently top Group D with four points from two games.
The West Africans however face a more difficult task in their bid to earn a place at the 2026 World Cup.
They are second bottom in their group with three points from four games.
Gusau is however upbeat the team will qualify for the mundial.
“I have much confidence that we will qualify for the next World Cup in 2026,” Gusau stated at the annual general meeting of the NFF.
“I know we have had a bad start, three points in four matches, but we have made progress by the momentum now gathered by the Super Eagles.
“Going forward, all the players now know what is at stake and we will surely support the team.”
