Former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi has expressed delight over Nicolas Jackson’s performance in the Blues 3-0 win over West Ham United.

Jackson earned rave reviews for his superlative display against the Hammers.

The Senegal international scored a brace and also recorded an assist in the game.

Mikel openly criticised Jackson after Chelsea’s opening day defeat to Manchester City, and the striker reacted angrily after netting in Enzo Maresca’s side’s 7–2 thrashing of Wolverhampton Wanderers the following week.

The former Super Eagles captain stated that Jackson is getting better with every game.

“Nicolas Jackson wants the best for Chelsea Football Club,” Mikel stated in his latest episode of the Obi One Podcast, released on Monday via YouTube.

“There is an absolutely fantastic player there, and it’s amazing to see that he’s taking on board what I’m saying to improve.

“The way he scored the two goals is absolutely fantastic.”

Mikel noted that his earlier criticism was meant to help the player improve, saying, “We’re not here to put anyone down or criticise the players.”
