Taiwo Awoniyi may return to action for Nottingham Forest against Arsenal on Tuesday after recovering from injury, DAILY POST reports.

Awoniyi sustained a groin injury while on international duty in October 2023.

The 26-year-old later went under the knife and has been missing in action since then.

“Awoniyi is in the process of recovering and getting the fitness levels right. It was our decision to bring them to the group. Instead of waiting for them to be 100 per cent ready, we decided to bring them in and after that, we will decide,” Nottingham Forest head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Nigeria international has scored four goals and registered two assists in 10 league appearances for the club this season.

He was their top scorer last season with 10 goals.
