Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has dropped Casemiro from his starting XI to face Southampton in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Casemiro was at fault for Liverpool’s first two goals as United lost 3-0 before the international break.

He has now been replaced by Christian Eriksen against the Saints.

Ten Hag, speaking to TNT Sports on why Eriksen is starting, said: “He has had a good pre-season, in training he’s had very good performances. So, he has earned a start.”

On Manuel Ugarte being on the bench, Ten Hag added: “Manuel, we have to integrate into the team.

“He has only had two sessions, we have to integrate and that takes time.”
