Former Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas, has urged manager Mikel Arteta to replace Martin Odegaard with Leandro Trossard in the midfield when his side faces Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend.
Fabregas believes Trossard has the ‘capabilities and qualities’ to fill in Odegaard’s position.
Odegaard is currently ruled out of Arsenal’s Premier League London derby with Spurs due to injury he sustained while on international duty with Norway.
“I also would like to see Trossard in midfield. I know he likes to come from the wing but he has the capabilities and qualities to play the role of Odegaard. A little more offensive midfielder, No.8, No.10,” Fabregas told the Planet Premier League podcast.
“I think he’s got the qualities to do that. Probably [Thomas] Partey and Jorginho will be the other two midfielders if I am not mistaken.
“But overall, it’s great to see young players making it into the Premier League.”
