Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili is expected to be fit for the side’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash with Angola, DAILY POST reports.
Nwabali picked up an injury in Nigeria’s Round of 16 victory against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon last weekend.
The 27-year-old was replaced by Omonia Nicosia’s Francis Uzoho 10 minutes from time.
The Chippa United goalie underwent a test on Monday to ascertain the severity of the injury.
“Stanley was at the hospital this morning to ascertain the extent of the injury and it was nothing serious,” a reliable camp source told DAILY POST.
“We expect him to be back in training this week. Thank God we have around four days before the game.”
Nwabali has made four appearances for the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2023 finals.
The Super Eagles will take on the Black Antelopes at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Friday.
