Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has congratulated Ademola Lookman for joining all-time Nigeria men’s Ballon d’Or nominees.
Recall that Lookman was recently named in the 30-man shortlist of nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.
The Atalanta forward was selected among world class players like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Rodri and Jude Bellingham in the list.
The Nigeria international made the headlines around the world, after he scored a remarkable hat-trick as Atalanta beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final few months ago.
Last year, Lookman’s international team-mate Victor Osimhen, finished in 8th place in the Ballon d’Or final rankings.
Speaking on the development, Oliseh, in a tweet on X on Thursday, said he was delighted to see the former Leicester City man in the list of Nigerians who made the Ballon d’Or list in the past.
“Congratulations to Ademola Lookman for joining this exclusive list of Nigerians who were worldwide acclaimed! Naija’s all-time magnificent 7 just became THE MAGNIFICENT 8,” Oliseh tweeted.
“Delighted and welcome to the Club Lil bro.”
