Crawley Town defender, Benjamin Tanimu has replaced Bright Osayi-Samuel in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Osayi-Samuel, who plays for Turkish Super Lig giants, Fenerbahce pulled out of the games due to injury.

Tanimu was handed a late invitation by caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen.

The centre-back arrived the team’s Four Points by Sheraton base in Uyo on Tuesday afternoon.

The 22-year-old will join his teammates for their first training session later tonight.

The former Bendel Insurance player joined English League One club Crawley Town on transfer deadline day.
