Falconets head coach Chris Danjuma has praised his players for their remarkable performance in the victory over Korea Republic.
The West Africans started their campaign at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on a winning note, courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Korea.
Flourish Sabastine scored the winning goal four minutes from time.
“It was a tough match, being the first match. The victory is sweet because it puts your foot in the group,” Danjuma told FIFA.com.
“My team performed well, but I know we’re going to perform much, much, much better than this.”
The Falconets will face Germany in their second group game in Bogota on Wednesday.
