Liverpool manager Arne Slot has suggested that his team defeated Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday because his players put in an ‘incredible work rate’ against the host.
A Luis Diaz brace and Mohamed Salah’s goal gave Slot’s side all three points against Man United at Old Trafford.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Slot identified Liverpool’s work ethic off the ball as the defining factor behind their dominant win over the Red Devils.
“I think everything you want to see as a manager you saw in this game,” the Dutchman said.
“So, everything was there and maybe the one that was most important is that the work rate was incredible by all of them without the ball, and that makes it a very positive day today.”
The victory moves Liverpool to second place on the Premier League table behind Manchester City.
