Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song has rallied his charges ahead of what is expected to be a huge fixture against Nigeria.
The Indomitable Lions have struggled to impress at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
The former champions picked up just one point from their opening two games before recording a dramatic 3-2 victory against Gambia to seal a place in the second round.
The clash with the Super Eagles promises to be a feisty affair, going by the history of their past meetings.
Song stated that his team is battle-ready for the clash of the heavyweights.
“We are no longer in danger. We are well prepared. The match against Nigeria is a risky match. I have reached a point where I no longer calculate anything. We must correct what needs to be corrected. We must do everything possible to win the match against Nigeria,” the former defender told reporters.
“We have to take the Nigeria team seriously. And when we meet a serious team, we are serious too. You have to win to continue the competition.”
