Ezinne Kalu has been selected for the 2024 Olympic Games women’s basketball event second team.

Kalu was D’Tigress’ top performer at the Paris Olympic Games.

The 32-year-old averaged 18.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game at the games.

Kalu is the first African to make the selection.

D’Tigress made a remarkable impact in Paris 2024, becoming the first African country to make it to the quarterfinals.

The African champions defeated Australia and Canada in the group stage.

D’Tigress head coach Rena Wakama was also named Best Coach in the women’s basketball event.
