Paul Onuachu has earned special praise from Southampton manager, Russell Martin, DAILY POST reports.

Onuachu rejoined the Saints after spending last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor.

The Nigeria international made his first appearance for Southampton in over a year against Getafe on Saturday.

The forward’s future remains uncertain with Trabzonspor still keen on signing him on a permanent transfer.

Martin praised the striker for his professionalism.

“I just think he’s different from what we have. He’s trained really, really well,” he told Daily Echo.

“He’s a different Paul to the one I came across last season in terms of confidence. I think the last pre-season was so difficult for so many of them.

He has made 11 Premier League appearances for Southampton.
