West Brom manager, Carlos Corberán has kind words for Josh Maja following the forward’s impressive display against Queen Park Rangers.
Maja fired a superb hat-trick as the Baggies started the new season with a 3-1 victory at the MATRADE Loftus Road on Saturday.
The Nigerian made history as the first Albion player to score three goals in the opening game of a league season since Alf Bentley in the 1913–14 season.
Corberan praised the striker for his performance.
”Josh Maja has had a very good level of impact on the game because it is not easy to score three goals, and all three had a lot of quality,” he told the club’s official website.
“But with Josh Maja, after one season without playing many games, we have to manage his minutes well and this is one of the positions we need to strengthen because we need to protect every single player.”
