Napoli manager Antonio Conte is refusing to pick Victor Osimhen for matches amid uncertainty surrounding his future with the Serie A club.

Conte has now dropped Osimhen for their first official fixture of the season.

The Super Eagles striker will play no part in their Coppa Italia clash against Modena.

Napoli are still looking to sell Osimhen this summer, having agreed personal terms with Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

The former Italian champions have tried to do a swap deal with the Blues, but Osimhen is unwilling to reduce his wages and go on a loan without obligation to buy.

Osimhen still has a release clause of around €130 million in his current contract.
