Real Madrid legend, Sergio Ramos, has paid an emotional tribute to his longtime teammate Pepe, who announced his retirement from football.

Pepe had announced his decision to retire from professional football on Thursday.

The 41-year-old Portuguese announced his decision to hang up his boots after an illustrious 23-year career.

Pepe and Ramos formed one of the best central-defensive partnerships of the modern era during their time together at Real Madrid.

Reacting, Ramos, in a post on Instagram, described Pepe as a true warrior and a friend.

“A true warrior. Many matches, wins and trophies together. It was a pleasure playing alongside you. I wish you the best, my friend,” Ramos posted alongside a picture of him and Pepe wearing Real Madrid jersey.
