Rangers technical adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu says his side’s victory over Rivers United was a morale booster towards achieving their target for the season.

The Flying Antelopes extended their unbeaten home streak to three following a 1-0 victory over Rivers United on Thursday.

Kazeem Ogunleye scored the decisive goal for the Flying Antelopes.

“This win cannot be described as a narrow defeat. When you defeat the only remaining continental team of the country, it can’t be described as a narrow win,” he said to bsnsports.

“Our opponents have not lost for nearly six matches, but we stopped them.

“It is not as if we were at our best as we failed to take some glaring chances we created. However, we thank God for the victory and we keep working on the team to take the club to the level it rightly belongs.”
