Barcelona want to stick with Xavi until at least the end of the season, according to Sport.

Xavi has come under immense pressure as the team has steadily fallen out of contention in LaLiga.

The Catalans sit eight points behind leaders Girona on the table and have been dumped out of the Copa del Rey by Athletic Bilbao.

But Barcelona have no plans to part with Xavi any time soon, and will stick with him until at least the end of the season.

Speaking after the 4-2 defeat to Athletic, Xavi said: “We play with boys; we are in construction; we have a very short squad.

“It is the beginning of something important, whether I am coaching or not. There is a future.”
