Chelsea midfielder, Conor Gallagher, is booked to travel to Madrid on Monday ahead of signing a five-year contract for Atletico following a breakthrough in talks.
According to Mail Sport, the 24-year-old’s future is now set to be resolved.
Atletico had agreed a £33.7 million deal with the Blues last week and were waiting on Gallager for an answer by Sunday.
Chelsea had informed Gallagher that it was best for him to leave after 16 years with the Premier League club. It is believed Enzo Maresca had banished the player from his first-team squad too.
Talks accelerated with the club on Sunday with a resolution met in the early hours.
Gallagher will now fly with his agent Paul Nicholls to Madrid to finalise terms and all is expected to be signed off for the England midfielder later today.
