Japan forward, Riko Ueki has fired a warning shot to the Super Falcons of Nigeria ahead of their Group C clash at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Asian champions will be up against Nigeria in their last group game at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Wednesday (today).
Futoshi Ikeda’s side started their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Spain.
The Nadeshiko, however, rallied to beat Brazil 2-1 in their second game.
Japan needed a draw against Nigeria to guarantee a place in the quarter-finals.
“Of course, we want to score goals through attack, but if we can get on the right foot, that can change the situation,” Ueki was quoted by Nissan Sports.
“Aggression in defence is one of our strengths. They’re not the type to build up plays, so we need to find an opening up front.”
