Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle to sell Mason Greenwood to Marseille, according to Mail Sport.

The initial fee is believed to be £27million plus £3.2m in add-ons.

The slight delay was due to Greenwood’s approval for the transfer to progress.

There has now been a verbal agreement between the player and the two clubs over the proposed transfer, but the deal has not yet been finalised.

Greenwood will now travel to undergo a medical in France and sign the necessary paperwork.

The move to Marseille would see the 22-year-old play under Roberto De Zerbi, who was hired by the Ligue 1 giants in June.
