Former Chelsea striker, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has said that goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic will be ‘very, very angry’ at himself for not keeping a clean sheet in his side’s Carabao Cup 6-1 win against Middlesbrough.
Chelsea had lost the semi-final first leg encounter 1-0 against Middlesbrough earlier this month.
However, the Blues thrashed the Championship side 6-1 in the return leg on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge to qualify for the final, where they will face either Liverpool or Fulham.
Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke all scored for the Premier League club after an own goal from Jonny Howson started the rout.
Middlesbrough did score a late consolation goal, thanks to Morgan Rogers’ fine strike and Hasselbaink feels that late goal from the visitors will have frustrated Petrovic.
“Having my manager’s hat on, it is important to keep a clean sheet,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports.
“I bet you that the goalkeeper is going to be very, very angry he got a goal against him.
“But not a lot of games you are going to be 6-0 up. you might be 1-0 up, it has to become a habit that you keep clean sheets and that is why I ask that question.
“If it breeds through your team, clean sheets, clean sheets, you are going to be successful.”
