Jennifer Echegini has said she is elated to be part of Super Falcons’ squad for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Echegini was a surprise inclusion in Randy Waldrum’s squad for last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The 23-year-old will be appearing at her second major tournament for Nigeria in Paris.
She said, ”I’m really excited to be part of the squad for this big tournament. It’s always an honour to wear Nigeria’s crest. It is a big honour for me to be part of this team,” the former Florida State Seminoles star told NFF TV.
Echegini completed a move to French club Paris Saint-Germain this week.
The midfielder is already looking forward to the challenge of playing for her new club.
“I’m excited, kind of nervous, obviously PSG is a good team. I don’t know what to expect, it is going to be challenging but I am ready for the challenge,” she added.
“After this tournament that’s where I will be going. I’m just excited, good things are coming up again.”
