Former Manchester United forward Teddy Sheringham has made his prediction ahead of England’s Euro 2024 final against Spain.
According to him, Spain will suffer a 2-1 defeat in the hands of England at the Olympiastadion on Sunday.
He also named Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as the standout candidate to replace Gareth Southgate.
Spain will go into tonight’s clash as the favorites to lift their fourth European Championship.
Teams like pre-tournament favorites France and host Germany has fallen in the hands of Spain on their way to the final.
England on the other hand have relied on individual moments of brilliance to defeat Slovakia, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
Speaking to Metro, Sheringham said, “I think Spain have been the most impressive team in the tournament.
“Having said that, I don’t think they’re unbeatable – if we have a go at them with a caution that Gareth will put in the players’ minds, I think we’ve got a good chance of winning it.
“I don’t think there are going to be a lot of goals in it because we’re going to have to be very tight on their two wingers, but I still hope and expect that we’ll win it.
“I said before the last game that it will be tight and we’ll win by a goal, I said 1-0 before, but I think it might go to 2-1 again.”
