Premier League legend, Teddy Sheringham has picked Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola as the ideal replacement for Gareth Southgate.

He said the Manchester City boss is the standout candidate for the England job.

Southgate will lead England in the final of the European championship in Germany on Sunday after which his future will be up in the air.

The English coach has been criticized for his style of play.

Asked about the possible replacements for Southgate during an interview with Metro, Sheringham said,
“I would break the bank for Pep Guardiola.

“He would probably rather manage Spain, but if you have all the money in the world – like the FA have – then I would say break the bank and get Guardiola!”
